To continue with the previous post, compare the latest episode of Joan of Arcadia, which had the "oxymoron-moron" joke, to an earlier episode where a rabbi (or was it God? email me, people!) told Joan something about intimacy and the ability to hurt someone but choosing not to, which is heady and direct stuff. On the one hand, you have Joan telling us what to feel in her spiel to Grace. On the other, there's incisive observation.
