The two preceding episodes were relative duds, especially compared to this episode. "The Greater Good" and "Born to Run" hewed closer to character-studies, whereas the first part of "Exodus" advanced the mythological storyline, and without a doubt the results were drastically better. "The Greater Good" and "Born to Run" both ran dangerously close to sentimentality; "Exodus" opened up the depths of human dread.
Or, to coin a witticism: More creepy, less weepy.
(Though the Sun/Jin reconciliation received a big, "Aww!" from me. Because I'm a sap.)
Indie rating: Massive Attack - "Inertia Creeps"
